Location. Founded by the infamous Bugsy Siegel, the Flamingo Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nev., has anchored the Strip since 1946 and was the first casino built on the block. The Las Vegas Convention Center is three miles from the hotel. McCarran International Airport is four miles away. For outings around the city, busses, private trolleys and the Las Vegas Monorail are available for a fee. Complimentary shuttle service is provided by the hotel to its four partner properties.

Hotel Features. Center Cut Steakhouse features aged beef and fresh seafood. Other dining options include Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, Paradise Garden Buffet and Carlos’n Charlie’s. Business-friendly amenities include conference rooms and a business center. Fees apply for high-speed and wireless Internet access. The Spa at the Flamingo offers Eucalyptus steam rooms and treatments including the Couples Poolside Massage, Lulur Scrub and Yoghurt Wrap. Four shows are featured at the property and the 77,000 square foot casino hosts a race/sports book, poker room, slots and table games. A Wildlife Habitat inhabited by Chilean Flamingos and African penguins is surrounded by terraced garden ponds, waterfalls and streams. Five swimming pools are available, as are two spa tubs, a children’s pool, 150- foot water slide, wet bars and a seasonal poolside restaurant.

Guestrooms. The 3565 guestrooms are decorated in mahogany-stained furnishings with accents in taupe, light brown and maroon. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of the city and standard accommodations offer couches, arm chairs and desks. Accommodations includes cable television, in-room safes and high-speed Internet access for a fee.

Expert Tip. A plaque in the wedding chapel’s central garden marks the site of the original hotel and provides a witty description of Bugsy Siegel’s Flamingo suite and his sensational murder.
