Las Vegas Gambling Tips: Video Keno - Part Six

On The Town With Vegas Vic
By: Victor H. Royer

Welcome to Las Vegas! My name is Victor H. Royer, but everyone just calls me Vegas Vic. I was named after that famous neon sign in Downtown Las Vegas, that cowboy with the hat on top of the Pioneer Club, always waving his hand and beckoning to his long love, Sassy Sally, on the other side of the street. I will be writing a few articles for AccessVegas.com, so I hope you enjoy them.

Video Keno Part Six

3-6-9 Way Keno

Among keno players, this ticket and game are known as "the three way kiss." You figure it out. It is another version of the 9-spot way ticket that I have just shown you immediately above. On this ticket, however, you can only pick three groups of 3 numbers, making a total of three 3-spots, three 6-spots (although it really should be six 6-spots), and one 9-spot. Therefore, on the pay table there are only three possible winning combinations, and these are pays for the 3-spots, pays for the 6-spots, and the pays for the 9-spot. For the actual charts showing all numbers and combination percentages, I refer you to my book: Powerful Profits from Keno. By using the charts in my book, you will be able to learn how to identify the better paying machines and game just by looking at the machine's payback tables.

2-4-6 Way Keno

Finally, there is a version of the 3-6-9 keno game that uses the very same principles, but instead of playing for 3-spots, 6-spots and a 9-spot, this game only plays for 2-spots, 4-spots and 6-spots. Each of the three possible groups -- A, B, and C -- are marked with only 2 numbers, each such group of 2 numbers forming each of these three groups of 2. This is also why keno players often call this game the two-ABCs game. On this game, you can only hit 2-spots, 4-spots, and a 6-spot. Otherwise, the game plays exactly like the 3-6-9 way keno we just discussed. The best pay table for this game pays back 94%. For the actual charts showing all numbers and combination percentages, I refer you to my book: Powerful Profits from Keno. By using the charts in my book, you will be able to learn how to identify the better paying machines and game just by looking at the machine's payback tables.

Spot Keno

The granddaddy of them all, this is the standard, the very basis of all Video Keno games. Although just about everybody calls this game Video Keno, its "industry" name has always been "spot" keno, because of the marking of the "spots". As with all of these Video Keno games, Spot Keno comes with many different pay tables and payback programs. Which one you get in the casino where you happen to be depends on the casino and how liberal they think they should be with their customers. Most of the time, the casinos in Las Vegas will have the best pay tables and payback percentages, with the "locals'" places off-the-Strip having the better of the mix. There are, however, many casinos nationwide that also carry the better payback games, and so you will simply have to look closely at the pay tables and find out for yourself which game you are about to play, and how good it actually is (or isn't).
