Las Vegas Gambling Tips: Video Slots — I Dream of Jeannie

On The Town With Vegas Vic
By: Victor H. Royer

Welcome to Las Vegas! My name is Victor H. Royer, but everyone just calls me Vegas Vic. I was named after that famous neon sign in Downtown Las Vegas, that cowboy with the hat on top of the Pioneer Club, always waving his hand and beckoning to his long love, Sassy Sally, on the other side of the street. I will be writing a few articles for AccessVegas.com, so I hope you enjoy them.

Video Slots — I Dream of Jeannie

This delightful television show has always been one of my favorites. Like any teenager in the mid 1960’s I had an awful crush on Barbara Eden, the actress who played Jeannie in the TV show. I still watch all the episodes I can find on TV and still find enjoyment in that classic comedy. They just don’t make them like this any more, sadly.

This terrific game from IGT comes packaged in hot pink, of course, with the cartoon illustration of Jeannie on the front of the machine’s cabinet. The game is a five line 9-reel video slot machine, which in this version features the Jeannie Bottle Bonus. You may have already played a similar game where there is a bonus wheel mounted at the top of the game, similar to the Wheel of Fortune game, also made by IGT. In that game, you get to spin the wheel when you hit the required combination on any active payline. This game is different, and you can tell them apart easily because this one doesn’t have the big wheel at the top, but instead has a big Jeannie bottle mounted over the machine.

There are actually two bonuses in this game. The Make a Wish Bonus starts when three, four or five of these “wish” symbols land on adjacent reels left-to-right. The voice of Jeannie will congratulate you and asks you to select one or more bottles. If you achieved entry into this bonus round by landing three of the “wish” symbols, then you will get to pick one bottle. You will get to pick two bottles if you landed four of the “wish” symbols, and your will get to pick three bottles if you landed all five of the “wish” symbols to get into this round. Each time you touch the bottle during this round it turns into a puff of pink Jeannie dust and this reveals the amount of credits you have won.

The Jeannie Bottle Bonus starts when you land three, four or five of the “bottle” symbols on adjacent reels. The screen reveals a lot of Jeannie bottles on a beach. Each bottle reveals a bonus credit win. Keep touching the bottles for as long as you can, but when you touch a bottle which reveals the words “Sorry, Master”, spoken by Jeannie, then the round is over. All the credits you have won so far are now added to your other wins.
