Blue Wave Seafood Restaurant
Master Chef Yoshiro Murkami was born and raised in Tokyo, where he
developed strong roots in Asian cuisine through the influence of his
grandmother, who was the vice chairman of the nutrition department for
Japan.
Murakami's career started more than three decades ago at the five star
New Otani Hotel in Tokyo. He worked at one of the top steak houses,
Virgo, and learned some of the most specialized techniques in cooking.
His responsibilities also included organizing and preparing food for
VIP specialty banquets.
While continuing to work for the New Otani Hotel, Yoshiro was introduced
to French chef, Elshean Bell. Aside from Murakamu's grandmother who
taught him the foundation of Japanese cuisine, Elshean taught him how
to create fine French fare. As a result, Murakami's cooking techniques
follow a traditional Japanese base with heavy French influences.
At the 1986 Tokyo Summit, Murakami had the opportunity to prepare and
serve former President Ronald Reagan and several heads of state and
dignitaries from European and Asian countries.
Currently, Murakami is involved with his newest project, Blue Wave
Restaurant in Henderson, NV. Murakami will continue to specialize in
Asian fusion and bring his overwhelming experience to the plate. The
most gratifying thing to chef Murakami is having his customers satisfied
and happy with his cooking.
