In honor of AIDS Awareness Month, Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will turn its fountain red in December and donate all change tossed in to local HIV/AIDS nonprofit organization Golden Rainbow.
All December, Miracle Mile Shops’ fountain will display a bold red hue in between regularly scheduled shows. All change tossed into the popular water feature as well as the center’s indoor rainstorm will be donated on behalf of Miracle Mile Shops to Golden Rainbow, as part of the center’s Caring, Giving, Changing community campaign.
Additionally, Miracle Mile Shops will collect holiday lights and decorations from Nov. 12 to Dec. 7 for families affected by HIV / AIDS. Those looking to spread some holiday cheer are encouraged to drop off seasonal lights and decorations at the Miracle Mile Shops customer service desk operated by Tickets & Tours during normal operating hours. All donated items will be given to Golden Rainbow clients in its Affordable Housing Program, as many of the families are unable to afford luxuries during the holiday season. As a thank you, Miracle Mile Shops will provide all donors with a Shop.Dine.Save coupon book featuring $2,000 in savings.
Miracle Mile Shops’ partnership with Golden Rainbow is part of the center’s Caring, Giving, Changing campaign, celebrating a year of change in 2012. In addition to the monthly fountain fundraisers, the Caring, Giving, Changing campaign also raises funds for other programs and organizations through community sponsorships, additional partnerships and a number of cash and in-kind donations. In previous months Miracle Mile Shops has teamed up with United Way of Southern Nevada (November), the Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® (October), Shriners Hospitals For Children (September), Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson (August), Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Greater Las Vegas (July), Aid For AIDS of Nevada (June), Communities In Schools of Nevada (May), Autism Speaks (April), National Multiple Sclerosis Society (March), American Heart Association (February) and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (January). In 2011, Miracle Mile Shops raised a total of $100,000 for numerous local and national non-profit organizations and aims to surpass that number in 2012.
