Ted Newkirk
CEO and Owner
Moving to Las Vegas from Portland, OR in 1993 for the beautiful sunny weather, Ted Newkirk discovered the internet in 1995 with the revelation "Wow ... I can put something online and anyone on the internet can come look at it!"
Starting with a handful of Las Vegas links on his AOL members page, Newkirk's collection of Las Vegas information continued to expand until it warranted it's own website, In-Vegas.com (the predecessor to AccessVegas.com).
To avoid confusion with competing sites and the branding problems associated with a domain name containing a hyphen, In-Vegas.com became AccessVegas.com in 2000, and expanded at a rapid pace without needing investor money.
Newkirk has overseen the growth of AccessVegas.com to now reach over 300,000 unique visitors a month and expansion into audio and video internet multimedia unmatched by competitors.
The self-proclaimed "'Moron' who runs this dog and pony show," Newkirk takes Las Vegas and AccessVegas.com very seriously ... but not himself. "Las Vegas is about fun. People come to escape and enjoy. If I'm not having fun, how can I bring that great Vegas vibe to the rest of the world?"
Newkirk's hobby's read like the prefect Las Vegas vacation itinerary: Fine dining, shows, thrill rides, spectator sports, and enjoying the beautiful desert scenery. Visiting family in Portland, Oregon and one of the world's top beaches in Destin, Florida balance out the crazy, 24/7 life of covering Las Vegas.
If you love Las Vegas, join the 400,000 people who enjoy visiting AccessVegas.com each week!
