Welcome to Las Vegas! My name is Victor H. Royer, but everyone just calls me Vegas Vic. I was named after that famous neon sign in Downtown Las Vegas, that cowboy with the hat on top of the Pioneer Club, always waving his hand and beckoning to his long love, Sassy Sally, on the other side of the street. I will be writing a few articles for AccessVegas.com, so I hope you enjoy them.
As you can see, the variety of available paybacks and options is quite staggering, as are the differences in the games. I again remind you that it is the casinos who ask for these paybacks, and that the maker of the game merely makes it to the specifications of the casino that is ordering the game. You need to know this as well as know about these differences, because in the end it is wholly up to you to make sure you are playing the better games, and not those that aren't as good -- percentage payback wise. Casinos will put the lower-payback machines on the floor just to see if people will play them. If they do, the casino will leave them there because they will make all that extra money. However, if players become smart, they will refuse to play games with bad payback percentages, and instead demand that casinos order the better-paying IGT machines and games that are available for them to order as simply as the not-so-good-payback games.
For the actual charts showing all numbers and combination percentages, I refer you to my book: Powerful Profits from Keno. By using the charts in my book, you will be able to learn how to identify the better paying machines and game just by looking at the machine's payback tables.
Super "Power" Keno
This game is often called "Power Keno", because it has a bonus feature on the last number drawn -- kind of like a "powerball". There is another game called "Super Way Keno", but that is an entirely different game, and I will describe it later. In this game -- called Super Keno -- the bonus pay is activated when the last number drawn makes the game into a winner, or makes the winner into a bigger one. This is very similar to the Cleopatra Keno game, but in this Super Keno the winning event is multiplied by four. What makes this game different from many of the others is that this particular IGT version comes with some pretty good pay tables. Naturally, all of these bonus type games have a reduced pay table to accommodate the super wins, and this usually detracts from the game's attraction. However, this particular version of Super Keno comes with a payback program of 94.06%, and this makes it a very good game, compared to others that may look similar.

We will continue this discussion in the next column.
