The fantasy football craze has swept the country and now, for the first time, a Las Vegas casino is offering fans a new way to enjoy the game. Starting this professional football season, the Cannery Casino and Rampart Casino will be introducing the Cannery Resorts Fantasy Football Contestsm, an exciting new way to enjoy fantasy football with a guaranteed prize pool of $120,000.

Exclusively offered at the Cannery Casino and Rampart Casino, the Cannery Resorts Fantasy Football Contestsm will give contestants another way to wager on America's most popular sport with plenty of opportunities to win. Each entry will cost only $25 and enter the contestant for every week of the professional football regular season. There is a limit of three entries per person. Contestants that sign up before August 31 can enjoy an early bird special in which buying two entries will get a third entry free. Guests can pick up entries for the contest at the race and sport books at the Cannery Casino or Rampart Casino between 9 am and 9 pm, seven days a week.

"We created this contest to cater to the fan who loves fantasy football, yet has no way to play it through legitimate gaming," said Eric St. Clair, Cannery Resorts Race & Sports Book Director. "This contest and our other new wagering options offer fantasy football fans a new, fun and potentially profitable way to play. We believe this will take fantasy football to a new level of popularity."

The contest is simple to play and will add an extra dimension of fun and excitement to the football season. During each week of the professional football regular season, 12 head to head fantasy match-ups will be set. Pairs of quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, and kickers will be pitted against each other. Fantasy scores will be given to each player based on the traditional fantasy football scoring system such as rushing, receiving and passing yards and touchdowns. Contestants choose who will have the better fantasy day in each match-up and submit the card. Each correct pick will be worth one point.

Every week, the contestant who picks the most winners wins $5000. In the event of a tie, the prize money will be divided among all the entrants who have tied. All weekly cash winners will be considered "fantasy royalty" and receive an entry into the fantasy playoffs with a shot at the $10,000 grand prize.

Contestants can still qualify for the playoffs without winning a weekly prize. Finishing the season in the top 50 point totals among players who did not win a weekly prize will earn a contestant a "wild-card" birth in the playoffs. While a contestant can win as many weekly prizes as possible, a contestant can only garner one entry into the playoffs.

Since it is possible to get in the playoff by winning just one week, it really is never too late to join. A person can join as late as week 17 and still have a chance of getting into the playoffs with a shot at the big money prizes.

The playoffs kick off when the actual professional football playoffs start. Contestants accumulate points for each correct pick over the course of the three-week playoff period, which includes the wild card, divisional, and conference championship rounds. There will be no weekly winners during the playoffs. At the conclusion of the playoffs, prize money will be awarded to the top ten finishers, with first place garnering $10,000.

In addition to this contest, the Cannery and Rampart sports books will also be offering special fantasy football parlay cards. These parlay cards will have bettors pick who will have the best fantasy day out of several groups of players. This is yet another exciting new way fans can wager on America's favorite spectator sport.
