Las Vegas' famed Fremont Street Experience will premiere the first of three new Viva Vision® shows, "A Tribute to Queen," on Thursday, April 17 at 8 p.m. "A Tribute to Queen" will be the first in a series of shows featuring 3D sound and is the first Viva Vision® show to be dedicated entirely to one artist. Set to two of the greatest rock anthems of all time, Queen's "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions," the show is a dazzling musical showcase accompanied by stunning graphics on the 1,500 foot Viva Vision® screen.
In celebration of "A Tribute to Queen," the tribute band Queen Nation will be performing at the Fremont Street Experience for a six-night engagement from April 17-22. Queen Nation will play nightly from
8-11 pm on the 3rd Street Stage and each show is free and open to the public. Since coming together in 2004, Queen Nation has played to thousands of Queen enthusiasts who sing along with every song. With an authentic recreation of one of the greatest rock bands of all time, featuring Joe Retta, Mike McManus, Pete Burke and Parker Combs, Queen Nation will rock you.
"We wanted to do a show that's on scale with what visitors think of Viva Vision®--something larger than life," said Thomas Bruny, marketing director for the Fremont Street Experience. "With these famous rock anthems by Queen, 3D sound split 52 ways up and down Fremont Street and amazing visuals produced on the 12.5 million lights of the Viva Vision® screen, this is sure to be an incredible, unforgettable experience."
Viva Vision®, the LED display canopy rising 90 feet in height and stretching 1,500 feet along the Fremont Street Experience promenade from Main Street to Fourth Street, forms a spectacular foyer for the existing resorts. Stretching the length of nearly five football fields, Viva Vision serves as the showcase for the world's largest graphic display system. Within the canopy itself are 208 speakers capable of producing 550,000 watts of concert-quality sound.
