"Rod Stewart has a look, voice, and energy level that are uniquely his own. It takes an accomplished performer like John Anthony to nail a tribute that is sincere and accurate while covering the scope of Stewart's enduring career," says Mark Callas, who produces American Superstars with his Springtime Productions partner, Donny Moore.
Anthony performs a set of some of Stewart's biggest hits including "Infatuation," "Hot Legs," and "Maggie May."
Anthony bears a natural resemblance to Rod Stewart. His career as a Rod Stewart tribute artist began in 1994 doing Stewart covers in his Boston-area band. Before long, Anthony had down Stewart's voice and mannerisms. Since then, he has worked diligently to become a fixture in celebrity tribute shows captivating audiences in tours of the United States, Canada, and Japan. Anthony has also performed his unforgettable act for countless corporate events and numerous fundraisers.
American Superstars is a full-scale production show that combines the talents of tribute artists portraying the likeness and musical abilities of today's and yesterday's hottest stars. The American Superstars cast also features Darren Lee as Elvis, Kristie Fisher as Britney Spears, Chad Givens as Tim McGraw, and Lorena Peril as Christina Aguilera. The high energy Superstars Dance Band and the beautiful Superstars Dancers back the multi-talented cast. American Superstars has played at the Stratosphere since April 1996.
Showtimes are Sunday through Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. in the Stratosphere's Theater of the Stars Showroom. The show is dark on Thursday.
