Rampart Casino is pleased to announce their new weekly dinner series at The Carmel Room, "Thursdays – Direct from the Santa Monica Farmer's Market." The Santa Monica Farmer's Market is regarded within the culinary community as the premier Farmer's Market in Southern California. It provides the perfect opportunity for small farmers and culinary craftsmen to present their unique products at the peak of ripeness and flavor development. The new dinner series will begin Thursday, June 5.
"The people selling their products at the Santa Monica Farmer's Market take great pride in growing food in a manner that yields the best, healthiest eating experience," said Ari Sobel, Director of Food and Beverage at Rampart Casino. "By working directly with the farmers and growers, we ensure that they receive greater compensation for these efforts. We also have the benefit of being able to bring some of the best products possible to our loyal guests."
Wednesday of each week, members of the Rampart food and beverage team will go directly to the Santa Monica Farmer's Market to hand-select the absolute best available produce and products from predominantly organic producers for the dinner. Returning to Las Vegas that afternoon, Chef Steven Varga, Executive Chef for The Carmel Room will plan the menu specials showcasing the products he selected. Menu specials will be available á la carte or as a multi-course tasting dinner. The Carmel Room's full dinner menu will be also be available.
"In the typical model, crops are grown for looks and shelf life first. They go from farm to packing house, through distribution networks and may travel thousands of miles to Las Vegas," said Varga. "We're excited to personally pick exactly what looks best for our guests and to develop more sources for prime products. The flavors are so vibrant and they really define the essence of the summer growing season."
