Highlights include collaborations with Seoul Ballet Theatre of South Korea, Cirque du Soleil, and Northern Nevada Tour.

Season Opens with Don Quixote

A busy summer of planning for Nevada Ballet Theatre's staff has turned into a busy opening season for the company's dancers. Dancers are ready for the 2007-2008 season, the eleventh under the leadership of Artistic Director Bruce Steivel. This season includes an eclectic array of works - all with an international flair.

Nevada Ballet Theatre's 2007-2008 Season:

A vibrant tale of two lovers: Don Quixote, Oct. 5 - 7

The annual holiday favorite: The Nutcracker, Dec. 14 - 27

Dance greats Balanchine and Tharp come together for: From Stravinsky to Sinatra, Feb. 7-8

A unique exchange between South Korea and Las Vegas brings: East Meets West, Mar. 21-22

A classic tale with a comedic twist, set to the music of Prokofiev: Cinderella, May 16 -18

New Repertoire Additions, Northern Nevada Tour, and International Exchange:

"We are proud to add contemporary dance great Twyla Tharp to our repertoire," explains Artistic Director Bruce Steivel. "In addition, this year we have acquired Balanchine's physically demanding Rubies. In October, the company embarks on a Northern Nevada tour made possible by state funding. In addition, the company is also looking forward to the overseas exchange with our friends at Seoul Ballet Theatre of Korea, led by my colleague James Jeon. The South Korean company will travel to Las Vegas and then our company will travel to South Korea - all in the same month! Las Vegas audiences and South Korean audiences will both have the opportunity to enjoy East Meets West."
