Nevada Ballet Theatre (NBT) is pleased to present its highly anticipated Season Finale - Peter Anastos' clever rendition of Cinderella, on Friday, May 16 at 8 p.m., Saturday, May 17 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 18 at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at UNLV's Judy Bayley Theatre, 4505 Maryland Parkway. As the clock strikes midnight…


A fable where love conquers oppression, the tale of Cinderella is known the world over. Based upon the original Charles Perrault fairytale, a gracious young woman named Cinderella is unwillingly held captive by her evil Stepmother and jealous Stepsisters.


Performed last to Las Vegas audiences in 2004, Emmy Award nominated choreographer Peter Anastos brings his imaginative version of Cinderella back - but enhances it with all-new sets and costumes by Set Designer Michael Helms and Costume Designer, Christina Giannini.


"I am thrilled to be returning to NBT, one of my favorite companies," says Anastos. "Wonderful dancers, great atmosphere and very conducive to creative artists."


It's no surprise that the founding Director/Choreographer of the internationally notorious "Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo," (famous for its all-male company who performs "in drag") would be well-versed in comedic prose. Anastos' ballet explores the more humorous side of this beloved narrative.


By lending a unique perspective that only he can deliver, Anastos successfully launches this well-known children's story into a stylized production that is appreciated by all ages.


In addition to new sets and costumes, this story of undying faith is enhanced by Prokofiev's mesmerizing score. Anastos' rich and colorful choreography showcases Cinderella as representative of the universal dream – and proves that anything is possible…."if only you believe."
