One of the best rock 'n roll bands around today, the Black Crowes with opening act Buffalo Killers, are set to play The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 8:00 p.m.
The Black Crowes arrived on the music scene in the early '90s bringing back a style of rock that spans the '70s with a fresh twist. After creating the Black Crowes in the mid-'80s, Chris Robinson (vocals), his brother Rich Robinson (guitar), bassist Johnny Colt, guitarist Jeff Cease and drummer Steve Gorman released their debut Shake Your Money Maker (1990). With the release of single "Hard to Handle" – an Otis Redding cover, the band became a quick success and skyrocketed through the charts with the album reaching the Top Ten. The band followed with "She Talks to Angels" which received extensive radio airplay and helped the album sell more than 3 million copies.
The sophomore release The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, was released in 1992 featuring the hit "Remedy." The follow up album Amorica (1994) featured a new addition to the band, keyboardist Eddie Harsch and eventually reached gold status. Additional albums were released throughout the '90s and early 2000s.
The Black Crowes are currently completing the recording of the newest album and prepping for a spring 2008 release. With 16 tracks of new material including contributions from special guests, fans will be sure to hear something new when the Black Crowes arrive in Las Vegas to rock The Pearl in October. Opening for the Black Crowes are garage rock favorites Buffalo Killers.
