British sensations, The Searchers, joined by The Manfreds, will perform at The Club inside the Cannery Casino & Hotel on Saturday, April 26 at 8 p.m.

The Searchers were one of the most influential groups to rise from the 60's phenomenon. The distinctive jangling of the twelve string guitar and the rich harmonies embellishing their immaculate vocals have without a doubt assured The Searchers a lasting place in the history of popular music throughout the world. Their first hit in 1963, "Sweets for My Sweet," shot to number one and was followed by other smash hits including "Sugar and Spice," "Love Potion #9" and "Needles and Pins."


With their early roots in jazz and R&B, the caliber of The Manfreds was always higher than their acquired pop status might indicate. After The Beatles and The Animals, The Manfreds were the third band in the history of English rock to reach a number one position in America. Fans have enjoyed great hits including "Do Wah Diddy Diddy," "5-4-3-2-1,"  "Pretty Flamingo," "Ha! Ha! Said the Clown" and "Mighty Quinn." There's hardly an Oldies radio station around the world that doesn't play a Manfreds record at least once a day - and after over three decades that is an achievement in itself.
