About Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is a contemporary swing band that originally formed in 1989 in Los Angeles by leader Scott Morris. The band concentrates on the swing of the '40s and '50s, incorporating some of the Rat Pack lingo in addition to zoot suits and quickly built up a following by playing regularly on the local lounge circuit. In 1996, BBVD featured two of their hit songs, "You & Me & The Bottle Makes Three Tonight (Baby)" and "Go Daddy-O" in the Miramax Picture movie "Swingers." By the end of 1997, the band had self-released two albums called Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Whatchu' Want for Christmas which led to a major-label contract with Capitol Records. Currently, the band includes vocalist and guitarist, Scott Morris, Kurt Sodergren on drums, Dirk Shumaker on string bass, Andy Rowley on saxophone, Glen Marhevka on trumpet, Karl Hunter on saxophones and clarinet, and Joshua Levy on the piano. In addition, the band has sold over three million albums, performed at Super Bowl XXXIII with Stevie Wonder and Gloria Estefan, and had their music included in over 60 film and TV trailers.
