The legendary Chubby Checker visits Rampart Casino for a one-night engagement Sunday, August 3.


The performance will be held in the Grand Ballroom at the adjoining JW Marriott starting at 4:00 p.m. with doors opening at 3:00 p.m. Tickets go on sale at the main cage inside Rampart Casino Friday, July 18 for $40 inclusive of taxes and fees. As a special bonus to celebrate Chubby Checker's performance, all purchased tickets also include a complimentary meal at the Rampart Buffet.


When he was a small boy, Chubby Checker vowed to someday enter show business. In 1959, Chubby Checker recorded "The Twist," and in the summer of 1960, it became a number one hit. Record industry history was made when "The Twist" re-entered the charts and by January of 1962, it was back in the number one position. No other record before or since has accomplished that feat. "The Twist" spent an amazing nine months on the U.S. bestseller charts. Some of his other hits include "The Fly," "Loddy Lo" and "The Hucklebuck."


Chubby Checker is the only artist to have five albums in the top 12 all at once and the only artist to have a song go to number one twice. He is also the only artist to have nine double-sided hits, and was the first artist to have a platinum record.
