Nevada's largest Halloween festivity features a humongous corn maze in the crop circle style of a fire truck and it runs from Friday, Oct. 3-31 and ends with a barbeque and entertainment.

The admission prices are $12 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under includes entrance to the haunted corn maze. On Oct. 3 there will be an outdoor bar and "Rock Star Karaoke" by Myke and Miranda. The band Evenflow will play on Halloween night. Bring a can of food to donate to the poor and receive a dollar off admission prices. The drama department of the local high school will play the spooks.

The corn maze theme was born out of the April 10th fire that wiped out the Broken Spoke Saloon and Restaurant. It reads Thank You! Firefighters. A new but temporary convenience store will be open. But a 7,000 square-foot, new state-of-the-art convenience market plus a 2,500 square-foot nut & candy company to quench the hunger of those with the munchies. The new bar and restaurant will be 6,200 square feet.

The big news is that the ground-breaking for a community of affordable homes is less then two years off. This is the first true bedroom community for Las Vegas to breathe cleaner air and enjoy a more relaxed stress-free lifestyle. Glendale's beautiful hilly desert landscape will attract those who want small town living at an affordable price escaping the big city lifestyle of Las Vegas. There will be new homes, a hospital, a shopping center and a school. The clean air and blue skies will help lure families to the community.

This is the fifth year that the annual Halloween event will take place. In front of the cornfield are a gas station and a motel which escaped the fire. The idea is to try and find the center of the maze and then to get back out again on foot. For further information call Beverly or Penny at (702) 864-2288. Group discounts are available.

The ghosts and goblins will haunt the attraction for the four weekends in October from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. During the daytime it won't be haunted but it will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Between 5 and 7 p.m. they set up for the haunting hours. The attraction will run thru Friday, Oct. 31. Weekdays are by appointment only while Sundays are closed. See the web site at www.GLENDALECORNMAZE.com. Norbert and Randy Aleman came up with the Halloween idea.

The community project is the brainchild of Wes Adam, Todd Larkin along with Norbert and Randy Aleman. The housing developments on the drawing boards will be marketed to the middle-class and to those who want to pay affordable housing prices that existed six years ago in the Las Vegas area before the inflation boom hit.

The humongous corn maze will baffle anyone who sees it from the air. This is an art form developed in the Midwest and will be an amazing site from the air. The corn field is 700 ft X 700 square.

Glendale is a work in progress and the birth of a community with plenty of water and land for housing and business development. There are people who commute from St. George, Utah to Las Vegas because of the price of housing. Glendale is only half that distance.

It's a 35-minute drive north of North Las Vegas off of I-15. There is plenty of parking. This is the fifth year that the event is taking place.
