The Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open, the world's richest motorcycle race, rides into the MGM Grand Garden Arena Friday, Oct. 12 – Sunday, Oct. 14.  For the first time in the 10-year history of the U.S. Open, the premier riders of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Supercross class and the AMA Supercross Lites class will combine to form one class giving all participants a shot at the $100,000 grand prize.

In addition to the $100,000 winner's purse, an additional $50,000 is available to any rider that wins each night's Trifecta bonus program.  The program will pay additional money to the fastest qualifier at each night's event, a bonus to each night's hole-shot winner and a bonus for any rider that can complete the Trifecta challenge by being the fastest qualifier, winning the hole-shot and winning the overall main event.

"This is a remarkable opportunity for Lites riders to get great television exposure, pre-season supercross testing as well as a shot at taking home a $250,000 at the Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open this year," said Todd Jendro, senior director of supercross, Live Nation.  "It will be amazing to see the world's best Lites riders competing against the likes of James Stewart and the entire top AMA Supercross class racers in the world all under one roof, in one class."

Riders will have the ability to ride either a 250 four-stroke bike or a 450 four-stroke bike during the races.  Points will be combined from both the Friday and Saturday night main events which will determine the overall champion.
