The Fremont Street Experience is going country for the official kickoff party for the National Finals Rodeo on Wednesday, December 5. The stompin' shindig will feature free live concerts, interactive displays and plenty of boot-scootin' fun.

The 21st Annual Downtown Hoedown brings a rollicking entertainment lineup to Fremont Street with top country music talents Hal Ketchum, Sawyer Brown and Ray Scott joined by Las Vegas' own rising star, Tony Marques and his band. The performance schedule is as follows: Ray Scott, 6-8 pm, 1st Street Stage; Hal Ketchum, 9-11 pm, 1st Street Stage; Tony Marques Band, 6-8 pm, 3rd Street Stage; Sawyer Brown, 9-11 pm, 3rd Street Stage.

Hal Ketchum, known for his distinctive voice and reputation as an all-around good guy, arrived on the country music scene in 1991 with his number one single, "Small Town Saturday Night." He has since sold more than four million albums and continues to amaze his fans with soulful songwriting and showstopping performances every time.

Sawyer Brown has more than 20 years' experience as one of the most beloved bands in country music. The first winners of Star Search never stray from their roots and continue to please their fans with music that brings out the fun-loving soul of small town living. Their hits include the number one singles "Step That Step, "Some Girls Do" and "Thank God for You."

He may be a "Different Kind of Cowboy," but Ray Scott comes honestly by his country upbringing as a native son of rural North Carolina. He first found success as a songwriter when Randy Travis and Clay Walker had hits with his songs. Ray Scott released a debut album, "My Kind of Music" in 2005 and immediately hit the Billboard Top 40 with its title track.

Tony Marques didn't set out to become a country singer, but that's what happened when he was discovered by a local Las Vegas promoter. Now the front man for his own country band, Tony has gained a tremendous local following and is fast becoming a familiar name and face around the Nashville scene. His CD features original tracks including "Come and Get It" and "From Her to Here."

The Downtown Hoedown starts kickin' at 6 pm on Wednesday, December 5. All are invited to mosey on downtown and enjoy the feel-good sounds of country music among the iconic neon lights of the Fremont Street Experience. All concerts are free and open to the public and parking is available at the Fremont Street Experience parking garage located on the corner of Carson and 4th Streets.

The Fremont Street Experience is a five-block entertainment complex located in historical downtown Las Vegas. In 1995, Fremont Street was closed to vehicular traffic and a giant screen was suspended 90-feet over the street to display spectacular light and sound shows on its 1,500 foot surface. The 12.5 million lights of the Viva Vision screen dazzle 365 nights a year and make the Fremont Street Experience a one-of-a-kind venue. With direct pedestrian access to 10 casinos, more than 60 restaurants, specialty retail and free nightly entertainment, the Fremont Street Experience attracts millions of annual visitors.
