Diamond grew up in Kyrgyzstan where he was an amateur boxing star. Diamond, campaigning as Almazbek Raiymkulov, represented Kyrgyzstan in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.
Diamond began fighting professionally in 2001. All of his pro bouts have been in the USA. He has stunning knockout wins, stopping Ray Narh (KO 1), Jose Soto-Karass (KO 2), Lamar Murphy (KO 5), Koba Gogoladze (TKO 6) and battled world champion Joel Cassamayor to a draw at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The fight card will also feature Martirosyan, a 2004 USA Olympian. He is one of Top Rank's best prospects, a hard-hitting 20-0, 13 KO junior middleweight who strikes with power.
"There is no question Martirosyan is working his way to a world title shot," said Brad Goodman, Top Rank matchmaker. "He's the real deal in the junior middleweight division."
Martirosyan, trained by Ronnie Shields of Houston, is scheduled for 10 rounds. He will box in the opening televised bout at 5 pm.
The undercard includes young, exciting, popular Las Vegas fighters, Anthony Lenk, 3-0-0 in super lightweight division and super featherweight Diego Magdaleno. Magdaleno is trained by Pat Berry and Augie 'Kid Vegas' Sanchez and holds a record of 4-0 with two KOs. His stablemate, super bantamweight Alex Mercado, is also on the card with a record of 5-1 with four KOs.
