The Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation aims to raise $200,000 to benefit local charity organizations

Southern Nevada firefighters will suit up for the annual "Fire and Rain" Firefighter Bachelor Auction, hosted by the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation on Saturday, June 7, from 6 – 10 p.m. at Rain Nightclub inside the Palms Casino Resort. A group of 20 Southern Nevada firefighters will be up for auction to raise money for the Candlelighters® Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada and the Lion's Burn Care Center at the University Medical Center. This year's goal is to raise $200,000.

The "Fire and Rain" Firefighter Bachelor Auction will include live entertainment from local performers including Thunder From Down Under and The Scintas, a raffle with great prizes and the chance to bid on a date package with 20 of Southern Nevada's finest firefighters. Admission is $40 for women and $80 for men.

"It is our responsibility as a community organization to provide help for Southern Nevada families in need," said Anthony Galloway, President of the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation. "Fundraising events like the Firefighter Bachelor Auction and the Fill the Truck Toy Drive bring the city of Las Vegas together as a community to help these families in their time of need. The support we receive from the public is so vital in making these fundraising events a success."

A portion of this year's proceeds will benefit the Candlelighters® Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada, an organization dedicated to providing support, education, hope and advocacy through programs and services for children with cancer and their families, as well as the Lion's Burn Care Center at UMC, the only burn unit in the state of Nevada, servicing burn care patients throughout the entire state as well as residents of Arizona, California and Utah.

The Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation, a non-profit organization guided by valley firefighters from Clark County Fire Department, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, North Las Vegas Fire Department and Henderson Fire Department, is a charitable organization that reaches out to the Southern Nevada community during catastrophic situations and lends a hand in areas where other organizations are unable to help. The organization provides assistance for sick or injured children through financial aid, clothing and furniture donations. More than 10,000 Las Vegas Valley residents have benefited from the Burn Foundation in the past two years and the organization has raised more than $450,000 for the Southern Nevada community since 2003.
