SFS Entertainment will present the "Stars of the Philharmonic Series" throughout the month of March at the beautiful 300-seat Starbright Theatre in Summerlin, 2215 Thomas Ryan Blvd. at West Lake Mead. The series will feature four weekend  musical events:


"Strings"


Saturday, March 1, 7:00 pm


Sunday, March 2, 2:00 pm


De Ann Letourneau, violinist and concertmaster of the Las Vegas Philharmonic, returns to the Starbright Theatre for a stirring musical program of classical and jazz.  Viola Trimble, principal violinist from the Philharmonic, and Barbara Gurley, principal cellist of the Nevada Chamber Symphony, will both join Letourneau to share classical works from Beethoven to Shubert, as well as contemporary and jazz from "The Sound of Music," The Beatles, and much more.


"Woodwinds"

Stephen Caplan, the Las Vegas Philharmonic's Principal Oboist, will be in recital with new Principal Flutist Alexander Viazovtsez, accompanied by the Philharmonic's Pianist Barbara Riske.  All three performers are award-winning soloists with international credentials.  The program will feature chamber music by Beethoven, Bach, Quantz, Tsibin, and film composer Ennio Morricone, and the program will conclude with a tuneful and effervescent trio by British Composer Madeline Dring.


"Brass"

A Classical Brass Extravaganza with an exciting collection of classical and pop, featuring the Las Vegas Philharmonic Principal Hornist Bill Bernatis and the Las Vegas Brass.


"Jazz"

Richard McGee, Associate Conductor and educational coordinator for the Las Vegas Philharmonic, along with a trio of great local jazz musicians, will share the classic American songbook from Gershwin to Cole Porter to Mancini.  McGee has a long history of performing and conducting on the Strip, including eight years at the Tropicana and 11 at Caesars Palace.
