On September 12,  Mayor Oscar Goodman will present the ‘Key to the City' to Anthony Palmisano president and CEO of the Society of San Gennaro for it's long time traditional San Gennaro Feast that has been delighting Las Vegans for the past 28 years.


"Fun for the entire family with food and festivities," has been the motto of the Palmisano family for 28 years.  Pope Benedict XVI has also recognized Mr. Palmisano, for his outstanding achievements, by presenting him with a special Apostolic Blessing.


The 28th annual San Gennaro Feast will take place on the grounds in the Grand Canyon Shopping Center, at 4245 Grand Canyon Parkway on West Flamingo Road, west of I-215 for 6 days beginning Tuesday, September 11 with a gigantic fireworks show.


The feast features an assortment of Italian foods and specialties, Italian music, arts and crafts and over 60 amusement rides - MOMS ride all butler amusement rides FREE on Tuesday, opening night.  There are also games, pony rides and a petting zoo. TV personality and entertainer Tony Sacca will host an evening of entertainment, featuring stars from the Strip starting at 9:00 p.m until closing.


On Wednesday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m, there will be a procession, guarded by the "Knights of Columbus Honor Guard" to honor San Gennaro.  The Mayor will then present the Key to the City to Mr. Palmisano.  Also on hand will be Judge Joseph Bonaventure who will play a game of ‘Morta' with actor Joe Rigano and host Tony Sacca. Morta is an Italian hand game where two people throw out their fingers to each other trying to guess the total number of fingers thrown, 0 to10.
