Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino raises $136,394 for Habitat for Humanity.
The $136,394 raised will go to Habitat for Humanity's local Las Vegas programs, as well as their Gulf Coast region relief efforts. Miracle Mile Shops continues to contribute money to this vital organization by collecting donations from the center's free entertainment program, which includes a popular indoor rainstorm feature.
"According to Habitat for Humanity, $75,000 is needed to completely construct a house," said Miracle Mile Shops owner, David Edelstein. "It brings me great pride to think that the donations collected during our free entertainment show and rainstorm attraction will fund the building of not only several homes, but brighter futures for families in need."
One of the complex's many miracles, an indoor rainstorm featuring thunder, lightning and pouring rain, occurs every hour on the hour Monday - Thursday and every half-hour Friday - Sunday. Other highlights of Miracle Mile Shops' free entertainment program include a multi-sensory laser show and customer service "ambassadors" on state-of-the-art Segways.
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. HFHI has built more than 250,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. HFHI was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller along with his wife, Linda.
