On Wednesday, October 31, from 4-8 p.m., Galleria at Sunset will host SUNNY 106.5's annual Safe Street event filled this year with Halloween-inspired events along with environmentally-friendly "Hallowgreen" activities.


Throughout the event shoppers can participate in safe and spooky activities such as trick-or-treating, having a picture taken in a pumpkin patch, costume contests and singing Halloween songs at "Scary-okee."


This year, the Galleria turned Halloween green by encouraging students and shoppers to consider the Earth and the environment. Shoppers can participate in "Hallowgreen" activities such as creating Halloween costumes using recycled goods and viewing eco-friendly art created by local students. Galleria officials will be recognizing several of the CCSD "Greening the Mall" art contestants for their extraordinary contributions at 6 p.m.


Sunny 106.5 disc jockeys will interact with shoppers via a radio remote throughout the event.


"The Galleria at Sunset is excited to partner once again with Sunny 106.5 to host Safe Street," said Marie Martorano, Galleria at Sunset's director of marketing. "In addition to our traditional Halloween theme, we have created fun activities to make this a memorable, safe and educational Halloween."


Extending the environmental-themed component of the Galleria's Hallowgreen events, community groups including the Conservation District of Southern Nevada, Clark County Department of Air Quality, the Sierra Club, Goodwill, Blind Center of Nevada and the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection will be onsite to provide demonstrations and answer questions.
