Tournament to be held August 16 at Rio Secco Golf Club


Epicurean Charitable Foundation Las Vegas executives announced today the Foundation will partner with Rio Secco Golf Club to sponsor the 1st Annual Adiyl Mir Memorial Golf Tournament. The Tournament, to be held August 16 at Rio Secco Golf Club, is to raise money for the Adiyl Mir Scholarship Foundation, which was established in the name of 17 year-old Adiyl Mir, who tragically lost his life in a car accident this past January in Dallas, Texas. A senior at Flower Mound High School, Mir was the son of Saddiq Mir, Epicurean Charitable Foundation board member and vice president of food and beverage at the Golden Nugget.


"We wanted to do something to support our fellow board member as well as celebrate the life of his son," said Shawn Ritchie, Epicurean Charitable Foundation president. "Even though the Adiyl Mir Foundation is not in Las Vegas, it is a Foundation that is close to all our members' hearts."


To honor Adiyl Mir, Saddiq established the Adiyl Mir Memorial Scholarship in his son's name to help deserving high school students receive a higher education. Partnering with Epicurean Charitable Foundation and Rio Secco Golf Club, the 1st Annual Adiyl Mir Memorial Golf Tournament was established to help raise scholarship funds.


"It means so much that the Foundation and the community of Las Vegas have come together to create this event to remember and celebrate the life of my son," said Saddiq Mir. "The outpour of support has been tremendous and I thank everyone. Adiyl would be very proud that this scholarship was established in his honor."


The tournament cost is $125 per person or $500 per foursome, with all funds raised going to the Adiyl Mir Memorial Scholarship.
