Co-sponsored by the City of Henderson and the Las Vegas Hawaiian Civic Club, the 18th annual Prince Jonah Kuhio Ho'olaule'a Pacific Islands Festival is set for September 13-14 at the Henderson Events Plaza, located at 200 S. Water Street, in the Water Street District from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission and parking is free.
"We are honored to partner with such a respected organization as the Las Vegas Hawaiian Civic Club," said Andrea Primo, Director of the Cultural Arts & Tourism Department. "The Ho'olaule'a celebration is a great example of how the city continues to align itself with organizations dedicated to the advancement and education of diverse cultures."
As one of the largest block parties, the signature event brings tropical island traditions, cuisine and entertainment to the mainland. Festival-goers will be able to experience Hawaiian customs with over 100 exotic food and craft vendors including a selection of unique culinary demonstrations.
Additionally, attendees will enjoy two stages of live entertainment. This year, performances include an array of dance teams, hula groups and award-winning Hawaiian bands like Vaihi and Las Vegas based Ho'omanawanui.
Performers and demonstrations are subject to change.
