The legendary funk band WAR has been tapped by resident comedian headliner George Wallace to share the stage for two weeks in January 2008. Following up the hugely successful visit by Sly and the Family Stone earlier this year Wallace personally chose WAR to extend an invitation to continue the excitement on stage at the Flamingo Showroom.

Performing January 15-26 at 10:00 p.m. WAR will rock audiences with their eclectic fusion of rock, funk, jazz, Latin music, R&B and even reggae. This combination has given the band an enduring musical career and sales in excess of more than 50 million records. First popular in the 1970s, WAR's multi-ethnic line-up transcended racial and cultural barriers. With lyrics often socially aware in nature, but with a laid-back funk vibe to jam to classic hits include "Lowrider," "Spill the Wine," "Why Can't We Be Friends," "Cisco Kid, "Gypsy Man," "Summer" and many more.
WAR is a permanent part of America's cultural landscape with a tour schedule of more than 150 dates per year as well as countless songs in hit TV shows, movies and commercials. Other artist's use of the band's songs have kept WAR relevant in the music scene and reinvigorated their presence with younger audiences.
"We look forward to starting the year out right by performing with George Wallace at the fabulous Flamingo Showroom," said Jordan. "WAR's music is street music with a breath of comedic lyrics and with George Wallace's side-splitting comedy will bring audiences to their feet laughing, singing, reminiscing and having one of the most entertaining nights of their lives."
Excited to have WAR join him on stage, George Wallace stated "The greatest message ever and something I preach every night is –Why can't we be friends?" taking a line from one of WAR's popular tunes. "The only war we need is at the Flamingo," added Wallace.
