Wayne Brady has captured the hearts of Las Vegas audiences with his one-of-a-kind show, Making It Up, at The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino.  Due to the show's success, BASE Entertainment and The Venetian are pleased to announce Making It Up has been extended for another year, which will keep Brady entertaining on The Las Vegas Strip through July 2009.

"I couldn't be happier being in Las Vegas doing what I do best, entertaining audiences," says Brady.  "I am trying to bring old school showbiz back - singing, dancing and improv, the way Sammy Davis, Jr. did back in the day.  Old school with a new school twist."

The extension will see Brady playing more than 300 performances before the end of July 2009.  Continuing his schedule of five nights per week, Brady will even up the ante for several weeks with an additional night of Making It Up fun.

"Wayne is an incredibly talented performer and we have seen an overwhelmingly positive response to his show, Making It Up.  We couldn't be happier to have him performing at The Venetian," says Rob Goldstein, president and chief operating officer of The Venetian. "With an all-star line up including Wayne Brady, Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular and Blue Man Group, The Venetian continues to be the premier entertainment destination on the Las Vegas Strip."

Since he started performing Making It Up in April 2007, Brady has lived up to its title.  Not only does he create a different show each night with improv partner Jonathan Mangum, he is also constantly adding new elements to the line-up, making each show an original.  Working with his four-piece band, led by musical director Cat Gray, and a chorus of talented dancers and singers, he recently added new production numbers including a tribute to Sam Cooke.  Brady continues to delight audiences with his performances of songs made famous by showbiz luminaries, such as Sammy Davis, Jr. and James Brown.

"Wayne Brady is truly a multi-talented star," says co-CEO of BASE Entertainment and presenter of Making It Up, Scott Zeiger.  "He uses that to his advantage, always thinking of new comedy bits and song-and-dance numbers to put in the show.  Only someone with his amazing talents could keep making things up with spectacular results each time."

Heralded as "pure genius," "hysterically funny" and "amazing," Brady's show is a guaranteed hit.

Brady is well known for his hilarious improvised antics, unique musical talents and limitless impersonation skills as showcased on the hit show "Whose Line is it Anyway?" and the syndicated talk show "The Wayne Brady Show."  Brady can also be seen as the quick-witted host of the returning hit game show "Don't Forget the Lyrics!" on FOX.

Making It Up can be seen Thursday – Monday at 9:00 p.m. in The Venetian Showroom, though performance dates are subject to change.
