Comedic genius Eddie Izzard brings his world-view humor to The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 9:00 p.m. Taking his life experiences into account, Izzard has put together a new U.S. tour aptly titled Stripped which kicks off in late April.

After the loss of his mother when he was a mere 6 years old, Izzard grew up raised by a single father and boarding school teachers along with his brother – shaping his style of humor. Throughout his years of schooling Izzard took advantage of all school had to offer which led him to his career. After playing football for some time, he moved on to a school that did not offer the sport so he stopped playing. He tried school plays, but after auditioning over and over…couldn't get a role. Izzard tried to play the piano, but ended up playing the clarinet and in the school's band.


He was 12 when he received his first laugh as he mimed a bit during a skit he had written during one of his classes. Izzard went on to hone in on his craft throughout the years and his experiences – experiences that eventually led him to being one of the most popular comedians of all time. Izzard currently tours the world and has the lead role in FX's The Riches, which premieres its new season Tuesday, March 18.
