Hard To Get Las Vegas Shows and Show Ticket Tips:

Buy well in advance, but remember: some tickets are not released more than three months ahead. Keep checking back. For reserved seat shows (most Las Vegas shows), the earlier you buy, the better the seats.

    Las Vegas Frequently Asked Questions

Las Vegas is one of the most exciting destinations in the world! It can also be one of the most overwhelming.

We want you to enjoy your visit and have a great time. Unlike many other "Vegas" sites, we live here. No second rate info from a few short visits each year or repeating something we heard or read somewhere.

Please understand that we are going to tell it like it is. We might be a little direct. We might be a little irreverent. We might be a little opinionated. Why? Because we are telling it like it is!

    General Las Vegas Tips

How Old Do I Have To Be To Drink and Gamble?

You must be 21 to drink, gamble, or go to clubs. We don't have any "18 to enter, 21 to drink" places. Those under 21 can walk through gaming areas, but must not stop and loiter. If you are thinking of bringing your kids here, read our FAQ on Kids In Las Vegas.

Do You Have To Be A Guest Of A Hotel To Go In Their Casino?

Absolutely not. In fact, they want your business. The mistake many make on their first visit is to act like their feet are glued to the floor of the hotel they are staying at.

Check out the inside of as many hotels as possible. The themed architecture is amazing. In fact, you don't have to be a guest to park in their parking garage or use the free hotel valet parking.

When Is Last Call For Alcohol?

When hell freezes over. You can buy a bottle of Jack Daniel's at a grocery store at 5 AM if you want. However, if drunk you can be arrested for DUI and any alcohol server can stop serving you if they feel you have had enough.

Pace yourself, and because our lack of humidity is deceiving it is a good idea to make every second or third round a bottle of water. You'll be happy you did the next morning.

    Can I Smoke?

This is not California. You can generally smoke in any casino. Most restaurants and buffets have separate smoking and non-smoking sections. If smoke bothers you, we suggest playing at one of the newer casinos that have high ceilings and state-of-the-art air filtration. All hotels have non-smoking rooms.

Cigar smoking is more accepted here than most areas, but don't assume you can light up anywhere. Ask the dealer if it is OK. Ask the bartender at the bar or lounge what their policy is. Some will discourage it, others will grab you a special cigar ashtray.
