Part Time Position(s) Available With AccessVegas.com
We have multiple positions available for candidates with
an interest in at least one of the following:
Writing
Journalism
Blogging (both composing Las Vegas travel related
blog posts, and responding to blog posts about Las Vegas)
Social Networking
Video (basic video camera use and editing... to be viewed
online)
News Research (combing news websites and blogs for
particular stories
we want to feature)
Project Organization and Networking (making the calls
and contacts we need for various
projects, working with PR people)
Other similar aspects of what we do here at
AccessVegas.com (read on to get an idea).
Vast experience isn't necessary, but preference will be given to those
who already have some involvement in the aspects above.
Job Details:
You MUST work well independently. Just as you would if you were at a
full-time media or new media job. Organizational skills are a plus, as
you
may be balancing a number of tasks and contacts at any given time.
We'll be fully understanding that you'll need to learn and grow and
we'll help give you the real world experience in the new media field.
However... we are not babysitters. You'll often be setting your own
hours and working at your home/dorm/coffee shop (wherever you like to
get your work done). The bottom line is that the work must be
done properly and by deadline.
Pay: Positions will be 12-15 hours per week. Starting pay $8 - $12 depending on experience. Raises will be given based on performance.
Working with us may qualify as an internship for those in college.
Those interested in freelancing are also welcome to apply.
We are expanding as a company and will need more full-time people over
the next 2-3 years as well. Those who perform well on a
part-time basis will be prime candidates to go full-time.

Our History:
Ted Newkirk formed In-Vegas.com in 1996 as one of the first ever Las
Vegas visitor information websites. In 1997, the name AccessVegas.com
was acquired (easier to remember, less confusion with other Vegas
sites), and In-Vegas has been relegated to an automated news and blog
feed. AccessVegas.com has been going strong and uninterrupted for
nearly 14 years. It is now arguably considered the top independent Las
Vegas
travel site (not owned by a big media or event ticket company).

weekly newsletter reaches over 41,000
opt-in subscribers, 100% of which who have signed up on our sites. (We
don't buy or rent lists). This is how we get people to look at all the
other stuff we do! News gathering for the newsletter also involves
combing other Las Vegas news sites and listing stories/links that would
be of interest to visitors and second home/condo owners. This blog site
is our newsletter archive.

Vegas TV - We started posting online Las Vegas video WAY
before
internet video was popular. We were way ahead of our time. Well...
times have caught up. If you are competent with basic video shooting
and
editing (working with video you shoot plus video we get provided) and
can also work with our contacts to obtain needed video, this may be for
you. All Vegas TV offers enormous potential for growth and for those
who help it grow.
Las Vegas Show Reviews - Show
reviews. We have a good stable of
writers, but are looking for someone who can keep them scheduled and
set up (and stay
on top of) various giveaways and promotions we run. Writing ability
and/or editing skills
helpful.

- One of the largest Las Vegas photo galleries
available. Note: We use freelance photographers. If this is your forte,
feel free to apply. But please understand that the permanent, part-time
help we are looking for must be someone who brings additional aspects
to the table.
Maps.AccessVegas.com
- Our Google Maps project highlights where every
hotel, show, and restaurant is. Under development.
Special Note: We are in the beginning stages of developing the PartyVegas.com brand. We'll be looking for those who do well on the Access Vegas side of the coin to move over to the Party Vegas brand as we develop it.
Although we have other sites, we've noted the main ones that new hires
will be working on.
We have the ACCESS brand for every major gaming city in the United
States and will be developing them all.
We also own
AccessPhoenix.com (to be used as a Phoenix city site)
AccessNewOrleans.com (to be used as a New Orleans city site)
BeachSands.com (to be used promoting beach resort travel)
We plan to take what we are successfully doing here and duplicating it
in the above cities. Hence... no shortage of work now or in the future.
As previously noted: Those who work hard, learn and grow in their

career growth as we expand.

We don't have a standard job application as this isn't a standard job.

studying for (if in school), the areas you feel that you may fit in,
and point us to (or attach) any samples of your work we need to see.
We fully understand you may not have job experience in our fields.
But... showing us stuff you've done even just for fun or hobby (along
the lines that we do) will go a long way with us.
Also, please include previous job experience. Especially if it applies
to anything we've done.
